So here we go, my first video ever is out!!
It's a very special cover version of an amazing masterpiece by the band Japan that David Sylvian formed in the mid 70s: the song is Swing, from the album Gentlemen Take Polaroids (1980).
I fell in love with Japan as a kid, my first song was Quiet Life, and at that time I made the very early crime to download it illegally: I recorded it on a tape cassette after findiing it by chance scrolling the radio tuner (recording also the DJ's silly comments at the beginning and at the end of it, goddammit...).
And I guess it was true love if I find myself now handcrafting this tribute about 25 years later and as a musician.
I must thank Enrico Zavalloni (Enri Zavalloni, Mondo Cane) for producing this beautiful video and mostly for his powerful and mesmerizing keyboards on the song.

E' una cover molto speciale di un gioiello creato dalla band Japan che David Sylvian formò negli anni 70: la canzone è Swing tratta dall'album Gentlemen Take Polaroids del 1980.
Mi innamorai dei Japan da ragazzino, il primo pezzo che ascoltai fu Quiet Life che già all'epoca commisi il precoce crimine di scaricare illegalmente: la registrai su cassetta dopo averla beccata fortuitamente in radio (registrando ovviamente anche i commenti del DJ prima e dopo il brano, maledetto...).
E credo fosse vero amore se adesso mi trovo, 25 anni dopo ed ormai da musicista, a forgiare questo tributo.
Devo ringraziare Enrico Zavalloni (Enri Zavalloni, Mondo Cane) per aver prodotto questo bellissimo video e soprattutto per le potenti ed ipnotiche tastiere che ha arrangiato su questo pezzo.
